Operophtera brumata (Linnaeus, 1758)

Winter Moth
La Phalène brumeuse

Wingspan: 28-34mm

A univoltine species flying from November-February. Attracted to light in small numbers, more often seen in car headlights. Recorded from all sites where trees and shrubs are found.

The larva feeds on various trees and shrubs, overwinters as an egg with pupation taking place on or underground.
