Dasycera oliviella (Fabricius, 1794)

Wingspan: 14-17mm

A univoltine species flying in June and July with occasional stragglers recorded in early August. The moth has been recorded from all sites with long-established broadleaved woodland as the main habitat. It comes to light but the literature describes flight in morning and afternoon sunshine.

Larvae feed on Quercus spp., Corylus avellana and Prunus spinosa with pupation taking place in dead wood.
