Crassa unitella (Hübner, 1796)

Wingspan: 13-17mm

A univoltine species flying from mid-May to August. It is a frequent visitor to light and has been recorded from all sites but is more abundant where trees, and preferably woodland are present.

Larvae feed on fungus, on and beneath dead bark. Pupation takes place in a silky cocoon within the larval feeding site.
