Acontia trabealis (Scopoli, 1763)

Spotted Sulphur
L'Arlequinette jaune

Wingspan: 22-25mm

A bivoltine species flying from April-June and again from July-September. A variable species and a frequent visitor to light. It has been recorded from woodland rides and clearings, woodland heath and margins, rough grassland and gardens.

Larvae feeds on Convolvulus overwintering as a pupa on or close to the ground among grass stems.
