Wingspan: 32-34mm

A trivoltine species on the wing in May-June and again in July, August and September. A species of unmanaged grassland, flower meadows, woodland margins and gardens, it is a frequent visitor to light and is on occasion seen flying during sunshine.

The larva feeds on Linaria and Antirrhinum, overwintering as a pupa.
