Carcina quercana (Fabricius, 1775)

Wingspan: 15-19mm

A univoltine species on the wing from early July to the end of August when it comes to light but is also easily disturbed by day. Most frequently observed in mature broadleaved woods and dense scrub.

Larvae feed on various trees and shrubs with pupation taking place within a silken web beneath a leaf of the foodplant.
