Pleurota aristella (Linnaeus, 1767)

Wingspan: 20-22mm

A univoltine species flying from June to the end of August. It comes infrequently to light and has been taken on just four occasions at Las Descargues all from traps placed in woodland margin overlooking dry meadows facing southwest. It is, however, far more abundant on the limestone pavement of the Causse.

Larvae are polyphagous feeding on low plants before pupating in dried leaves.
