Wingspan: 30-40mm

Imago: bivoltine - April-October/November. A tropical/subtropical species that is now resident in the Mediterranean region but is primarily a migrant to most European countries. A species of dry grassland it is a frequent visitor to light and sugar and can be observed flying strongly in sunshine.

Larva: polyphagous on herbaceous plants.
