Rusina ferruginea (Esper, 1785)

Brown Rustic
La Ferruginée

Wingspan: 32-40mm

A univoltine species on the wing from May to August. A species of calcareous grassland, broadleaved woodland, scrub and gardens. A frequent visitor to light and one particularly numerous at the Las Descargues garden traps.

The larva is polyphagous on herbaceous plants, overwintering as a larva with pupation occurring underground.
