Herminia grisealis ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Small Fan-foot
L'Herminie grise

Wingspan: 18-28mm

A bivoltine moth flying from May to June and again from July to September. A species of established, broadleaved woodland, scrub and gardens, it is attracted to light and sugar.

The larva feeds on Quercus, Betula, Prunus, Carpinus, Urtica and Rubus fruticosus, overwintering as a pupa.
