Nemophora degeerella (Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan: 17-23mm

A univoltine woodland species flying in May and June with occasional individuals extending into early June. Recorded at all sites within or adjacent to broadleaved woodland it is a crepuscular species but is also taken at light.

Eggs are thought to be laid in the flower heads of various woodland species with the larvae later feeding on leaf litter. Pupation takes place in a case made from leaf fragments.
