Selenia dentaria (Fabricius, 1775)

Early Thorn
L'Ennomos illunaire

Wingspan: 30-48mm

Imago: A common bivoltine species on the wing from March to May and again from July to the end of September. It is strongly attracted to light and has been recorded at all sites particularly those in or adjacent to woodland.

Larva: Feeds on various trees and shrubs.
