Lithophane semibrunnea (Haworth, 1809)

Wingspan: 40-44mm

Imago: A univoltine species on the wing from September to May, feeding on ivy blossom in the autumn and sallow in the spring when it mates. It is a frequent visitor to light and has been recorded from woodland, woodland margins, scrub and wetland habitats.

Larva: Feeds on ash, oak and blackthorn with pupation taking place underground.
