Plutella xylostella (Linnaeus, 1758)

Diamond-back Moth

Wingspan: 12-17mm

A migrant trivoltine species flying from April to November when it is a frequent visitor to light. A continuously-brooded species in warm climates and a destructive pest of agricultural crops. Recorded at all sites and often taken outside the expected flight period.

Larvae feed on Brassicae spp. Pupation takes place on the foodplant or in litter on the ground beneath.
