Monopis laevigella (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775)

Skin Moth

Wingspan: 17-19mm

Imago: A bivoltine species on the wing from April to August when it is occasionally attracted to light. It has only been recorded at Las Descargues and adjacent sites.

Larva: Feeds on animal detritus, skin, fur, guano etc.

NOTE: There is currently discussion about the validity of this species.
