Schrankia costaestrigalis (Stephens, 1834)

Pinion-streaked Snout
La Schrankie bicolore

Wingspan: 19-22mm

A bivoltine moth flying from May to October it is attracted to light and sugar and has been taken at all the Las Descargues traps. This appears unusual, for the species is associated with damp habitats yet Las Descargues is some 300m above the nearest running water or wetland.

The larva and all early stages and natural food are yet to be described.
