Colias croceus (Fourcroy, 1785)

Clouded Yellow

Wingspan: male - 52-58mm female - 54-62mm

A polyvoltine species flying from March to November when it can be found, often abundantly, in a diverse range of habitats.

Larvae feed on clovers Trifolium spp., lucerne Medicago sativa and bird's-foot trefoil Lotus corniculatus. Pupation takes place on the foodplant.
