Apamea lithoxylaea ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan: 44-50mm

Imago: Univoltine, flying May to July/August, an scarce visitor to light or sugar but it has been recorded at Las Descargues. A calcareous grassland species that appears to be confined to the the meadows of the ridge in this area.

Larva: Feeds on various grasses, overwinters as a larva before pupating underground in the spring.
