Rhodometra sacraria (Linnaeus, 1767)

La Phalène sacrée

Wingspan: 25-30mm

A plurivoltine species on the wing from March to November. A continuous breeder in the far south. Attracted to light and a frequent visitor to all traps in the area. Exposure to high or low temperature in the pupal state produces variation in colour. High temperatures produce individuals suffused with pink and low straw coloured adults.

Larva feeds on Chenopodiaceae, Rosaceae and Asteraceae.
