Leptidea sinapis (Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan: 19-24mm

A trivoltine species here in the southwest of France, on the wing from March to September. A species of mature broadleaved woodland and woodland rides but can also be common in the open, stunted woodland of the Causse.

Larval foodplants, Lathyrus pratensis, L. grandiflorus, L. tuberosus, L. montanus and various other Lathyrus species. Overwinters as a pupa on stem of the foodplant low down in grass cover.
