Lobesia botrana ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

European Vine Moth

Wingspan: 10-17mm

A beautiful species with up to four generations annually depending on latitude, from April to September. An occasional visitor to light at Las Descargues but more common on the Causse. A serious pest of Vitis vinifera.

Larvae are polyphagous on various trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials, pupation takes place in a flimsy cocoon after hibernation.
