Elophila nymphaeata (Linnaeus, 1758)

Brown China-mark

Wingspan: 25-33mm

Imago: Bivoltine, May to September when it is attracted to light but is an infrequent visitor to the traps of the Lot. It is a species of lake, pond and river margins.

Larva: Feeds on various aquatic plants, Potomogeton, Sparganium etc. pupation takes place below the surface of the water on a stem of a plant.
