Pharmacis fusconebulosa (De Geer, 1778)

Map-winged Swift
L'Hépiale véléda

Wingspan: 32-55mm

Imago: Univoltine, flying in June and July when it is attracted to light. Never a common species but it has been recorded from the traps at Las Descargues and those on the Causse. A species of heathland, open woodland and the limestone pavement of the Causse.

Larva: Feeds on the roots of Pteridium aquilinum overwintering twice as a larva before pupating in the second spring underground.
