Apamea monoglypha (Hufnagel, 1766)

Wingspan: 40-54mm

Univoltine, flying from May to September when it is strongly attracted to light and sugar. It has been recorded from all local traps and those in grassland, woodland, woodland margins, heathland and wetlands.

Larvae are grass feeders overwintering as larvae among the roots of the foodplant with pupation taking place underground too.
