Alcis repandata (Linnaeus, 1758)

Mottled Beauty
La Boarmie recourbée

Wingspan: 42-55mm

A univoltine species flying in June and July when it is attracted to light, recorded from the Las Descargues traps and those in sheltered parts of broadleaved and coniferous woodland.

Larva feeds on woody perennials, shrubs and trees, Quercus, Betula, Abies, Populus, Pinus, Pteridium, Corylus, Crataegus, Rubus, Galium, Acer, Clematis etc. Overwinters as an early instar larva on the foodplant.
