Opsibotys fuscalis ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan: 20-26mm

A bivoltine species flying in May and June and again from early July to the end of August. It is an occasional visitor to light and has been recorded from the Las Descargues traps and those in meadows and open woodland of the Fournanty Plateau.

Larva feeds on Melampyrum pratense before hibernating fully fed through the winter in a tough cocoon where it pupates in early spring.
