Asarta alpicolella (Zeller, 1839)

Wingspan: 14-20mm

A univoltine and quite unusual species for Las Descargues with only two records to date. Flying from June to August it is an upland species but has been taken here at 550m asal from a trap on the margins of rough, unmanaged meadows of the ridge.

The larva feeds on Plantago spp.

The specimen is awaiting dissection to confirm its identity.
