Agrochola helvola (Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan: 34-40mm

A univoltine species on the wing from September to November, it is attracted to light and sugar and has been recorded from the Las Descargues mv traps and those in broadleaved woodland, scrub and heath.

The larva feeds on various broadleaved trees and shrubs including Quercus, Betula, Salix, Ulmus, Erica etc. Overwinters as an egg, feeds in the spring before pupating underground.
