Hydria undulata (Linnaeus, 1758)

Scallop Shell
La Phalène ondulée

Wingspan: 34-42mm

A univoltine species flying from early June to the end of July when it is an occasional visitor to light and has been recorded from the Las Descargues traps and those in the ridge woodland. A species usually associated with damp woodland and carr.

Larva feeds on Populus, Vaccinium myrtillus before overwintering as a pupa just below ground.
