Wingspan: 20-30mm

A bivoltine and variable species flying from May to September when it is attracted to light. It has been recorded from the mv lights at Las Descargues and those in the dry meadows of the Fournanty Plateau.

The larva feeds on various grass species before pupating in a sand-covered cocoon.
