Wingspan: 36-44mm

A univoltine species on the wing from May to August. It is an infrequent visitor to light and has only been recorded from the Las Descargues traps. A species of calcareous grassland, woodland, gardens and scrub.

The larva is polyphagous on herbaceous plants, it overwinters as an early instar larva before finishing feeding in early spring and pupating in the folded leaf of the foodplant.
