Wingspan: 36-45mm

A Univoltine species flying from May to August when it is an infrequent visitor to light. It has been recorded at Las Descargues but is more common on the Causse. A calcareous woodland and scrub species.

The larva feeds on Rhamnus, Frangula alnus etc., it overwinters as an egg, feeds and pupates in early spring.
