Mecyna asinalis (Hübner, 1819)

Wingspan: 27-34mm

A bivoltine species of two overlapping generations flying from May to October. It is attracted to light and although recorded at Las Descargues is more commonly taken from traps on the Causse.

The larva feeds on Rubia peregrina before pupating in a silken cocoon in detritus on the ground.
