Pyrausta aurata (Scopoli, 1763)

Wingspan: 18-21mm

A bivoltine species flying in June and JUly and again from September to May. It is attracted to light but can be confused with P. purpuralis. The larva feeds on Thymus, Origanum, Menthe, Salvia spp.
