Cosmia trapezina (Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan: 28-34mm
A univoltine species flying from June to September when it is attracted readily to light and sugar. Recorded from all the Las Descargues mv lights and those in just about every other habitat. A common and variable species.

The larva feeds on various trees and shrubs after overwintering as an egg, pupation takes place in a cocoon amongst plant detritus.
