Wingspan: 34-45mm

A common, univoltine species that with a diapause in mid-summer has an elongated flight season from May to November. It is a frequent visitor to light and has been recorded at all sampling sites. It can be found in a variety of habitats from moorland to woodland and downland.

Larvae are polyphagous feeding on various herbaceous plants.
