Epinotia festivana (Hübner, 1799)

Wingspan: 14-16mm

A univoltine species flying in June and July when it is attracted to light. Recorded from the mv traps at Las Descargues and those in or near the oak woodland of the ridge and gorge. Not yet recorded from the Causse.

The larva feeds on Quercus, and Corylus forming a gall-like swelling. Pupation takes place following hibernation on leaves of the foodplant.
