Ancylolomia palpella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan: male 31-36mm female 34-45mm

A bivoltine species on the wing from June to October when it is an infrequent visitor to light but has been recorded from Las Descargues and the Causse traps. A species of dry, grassy habitats.

The larva feeds in a silken gallery in the stems of various grass species. Pupation takes place in a cocoon covered in grass detritus.
