Wingspan: 20-25mm

A bivoltine species on the wing from May to September in two overlapping generations. A frequent visitor to light it has been recorded from all the Las Descargues lights and those on the margins of the plateau woodland and the scrub of the Causse.

The larva feeds on Prunus spinosa, Salix, Alnus, Plantago, Filipendula, Galium, Pimpinella etc. before overwintering as a larva and pupating in plant detritus.
