Pyrausta nigrata (Scopoli, 1763)

Wingspan: 14-17mm

A bivoltine species on the wing from May to July and again from early August to October. It is an occasional visitor to the lights at Las Descargues, those in or adjacent to the rough meadows of the plateau, it is also a frequent visitor to lights on the rocky meadows and limestone pavement of the Causse.

The larva feeds on Thymus, Origanum, Mentha, Galium spp. in a web under the leaves.
